  • How do I know which type of service is right for me?
If you’re not sure, the best place to start is with a New Client Session. This allows time for a thorough intake and gives Amanda the opportunity to intuitively guide your care. You can also reach out with questions, I'm happy to help you choose what’s best.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Most treatments require access to areas like your arms, legs, or back. For microneedling, you may want to avoid makeup that day.
  • Should I provide a tip?
Tips are never expected, but always appreciated. The best tip is showing up fully for your healing and sharing your positive experience with others. If you feel moved to offer a gratuity, it’s received with gratitude.

  • Do acupuncture needles hurt?
Not really! Most people are surprised by how gentle they are. The needles are very thin; about the width of a hair and are inserted with care. Because of the small size of the needle, acupuncture should not induce a painful reaction. While you may experience various sensations, the feeling of pain is not normally one of them. The needle being inserted shouldn’t feel much worse than a mosquito bite. Here are the five most common sensations you will likely feel with acupuncture: Heaviness: The needle can feel like a weight being placed on your body. Achiness: A throbbing sensation can sometimes occur but usually dissipates quickly. Electricity: You may feel a small jolt or a zap like an electric shock as the needles are inserted. It lasts for a split second then relaxes. Tingling: There may be a light tingling sensation at the insertion site or throughout the body like you might experience when your foot or hand falls asleep. Warmness: A pleasantly warm feeling may flood your body as the needles are used.
  • How should I prepare for my first acupuncture appointment?
Learn all about how you should prepare for your first acupuncture appointment in our resource library.
  • How many acupuncture sessions will I need?
Every person is different. Some feel results within a few sessions, while others benefit from a longer healing arc. Amanda will offer guidance based on your specific goals and body.
  • What if I’m afraid of needles?
That’s okay! Many people are! Amanda uses a gentle, compassionate approach. If needed, she can offer needle-free options like acupressure, sound therapy, or Reiki.
  • Can acupuncture be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Acupuncture is often integrated with sound therapy, Reiki, or bodywork in Amanda’s sessions to support whole-person healing.
  • How will I feel after my Acupuncture session?
Patients normally feel relaxed and calm. You may feel tired or drowsy for a few hours if the experience is particularly strong. You may also experience a short-term flair-up of symptoms during the initial healing process which is completely normal. After a session, it is a good idea to relax for the rest of the day. A gentle walk or very mild stretching can also be helpful. Avoid big meals, vigorous exercise, alcohol and stressful situations. Full effects take place 24-48 hours after treatment.
  • Is Acupuncture safe?
Traditional Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture, applied by a trained and licensed practitioner, is extremely safe and effective. Not a bad track record when you consider that the medicine is guesstimated to be more than 2,500 years old. Needles generally cause no bleeding or pain, and the needles used are one time use. Licensed Acupuncturists are trained in exact location, angle as well as depth of insertion of the acupuncture needle to avoid any injuries.
  • What is microneedling, and what does it help with?
Microneedling uses fine needles to create micro-channels in the skin, stimulating collagen production and cellular renewal. It’s helpful for fine lines, acne scars, uneven tone, and revitalizing the skin.
  • Does microneedling hurt?
A numbing cream is applied beforehand to minimize discomfort. Most people report only a slight prickling sensation during the treatment.
  • Is there downtime after microneedling?
You may have some redness for 24-48 hours, like a mild sunburn. Amanda will provide aftercare instructions to support your healing process.
  • What does the procedure involve?
The skin is cleaned and numbing cream may be applied to lessen discomfort. For better results, we use collagen-stimulating products like Hyaluronic Acid, Growth Factor serum during the procedure. A small handheld pen-like device with a sterile, disposable tip with 12 tiny needles is then used to pierce the skin. Our needling pen’s multi-speed and adjustable needle depth allows needles to pierce the skin’s layer at 90 degrees and increase the absorption of products. After the treatment, a Growth Factor serum or Hyaluronic acid is used to hydrate, heal and protect the skin.
  • What are the benefits of Microneedling?
Dramatically increases the effectiveness and penetration of active ingredients in topical preparation Stimulates circulation and collagen production Medical grade titanium needles make it non-allergenic to human tissue Cost-effective compared to other resurfacing procedures Can be performed on all skin types, including ethnic skin It can be used on all areas of the scalp, face, body including fragile skin like around eyes, mouth, and neck
  • What effects does Microneedling have on the skin?
Improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of wrinkles Stimulates tissue regeneration Disfiguring scars, especially acne scars can be improved as new collagen fibers elevate the depressed scar tissue with the periphery skin Pore size reduction Improves the appearance of stretch marks
  • How many treatments do I need and how often can Microneedling procedures be repeated?
Micro-needling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For collagen induction, I recommend starting with 3 treatments, but with a minimum separation time of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. For scar reduction, an average of 3 to 6 treatments is recommended. The number of treatments required will depend on how each individual responds to the treatments, and the extent of the damage at the beginning. Microneedling can be used on all skin parts of the body (neck, décolleté, arms, legs, etc). Most people will begin to see results after the very first appointment.
  • What should I avoid on my skin after treatment?
To ensure the right healing environment, for 2-3 days do not use AHA’s (glycolic Acid), retinol, acidic, or “active” ingredients. Exposure to the sun should also be avoided or zinc-based sunblock should be used.
  • What are the side effects of Microneedling?
There are virtually no negative side effects, and none have ever been reported in over 150,000 procedures performed worldwide.
  • Am I a candidate for Microneedling?
Microneedling can be safely performed on all skin types and all skin colors. As the epidermis and in particular, melanocytes in the basal area are left intact. There is minimal risk of pigment change or post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. Skin micro-needling can treat sensitive and fragile areas that are difficult to treat with other procedures. These areas include the eyes, the neck, and the back of the hands. However, it is not suitable for patients who: Have a used Accutane (isotretinoin) within the last three months Have open wounds, cuts, or abrasions on the skin Have had radiation treatment to the skin within the last year Have any kind of current skin infection, condition, herpes simplex in the area to be treated Are pregnant or breastfeeding Have any history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing Have any kind of current skin infection, including active acne lesions and herpes simplex in the area to be treated

  • How does sound therapy feel?
Clients often describe it as deeply soothing, like a massage for the nervous system. You may feel calm, emotionally open, or more grounded afterward.
